FFS, I hate having so much to write about because I've been a lazy snail and didn't update here regularly. It's all my fault and I am perfectly aware of that fact, which makes matters even worse. Oh well. Let's start where we left, shall we?
The photo above. Yes, first year students of Geography Department at King's College London had a fieldweek from 21st to 25th October. What can I say? Most of the time it felt as if we were a bunch of an eight-year-olds on a school trip xD Visiting RGS (Royal Geographical Society) and having a 'behind the scenes' look into Natural History Museum on Monday, on Tuesday getting soaked wet while taking wind profile measurements, sampling species and God knows what else in the Heartwood Forest (but it was fun and really felt like a school trip at this point, I guess it was a good bonding experience as well. The photo is from that day, try and find me, I'm the bright spot on the right ;]), visiting Canary Wharf and a city farm there (which felt even more like we were little kids back in primary school, with the way we were curiously looking at the animals, laughing, petting goats, taking pictures with alpacas, getting lost and whatnot...) and taking a tour around London's places of homelessness. I've never been to Shoreditch before and I must say that I'd like to go there again just to wander around without destination, look at all the street art surrounding the place, get a feeling of those streets and alleys... Because one can feel the genius loci of this place, it's so close that you think you can just reach out and be able to touch it. It's brilliant. Also I'd like to come back to the Bunhill Fields - yay for old cemeteries and graves dating back to the beginning of the 19th century! Yup, this is my life, those are my choices. I just like this type of places. No, Supernatural has nothing to do with it. I've always liked them. There probably is an explanation for that if one wishes to look for it, but I never did. Maybe it's better that way, who knows?
Moving on! Since there was Halloween a week after that I wanted to find some clothes to dress up for the occasion. And of course when I say 'dress up' I mean 'cosplay'. That's quite obvious, isn't it? SO. GeekSoc meets on Wednesdays in the Penderel's Oak, a pub at Holborn. Halloween was Thursday this year. But I wanted so much for someone to notice that I'm not me that I choose Wednesday as my Halloween. Heck, on tumblr practically the whole October is Halloween, I do what I want! Basically on Tuesday I've gone with Zetsubou-sempai to Camden Market to look for very specific shoes - I've done my research, thank you very much. I've actually found ones that would work for me but unfortunately I couldn't get them in the right size :c At least Zetsu-sempai got something out of that trip - a very fluffy panda hoodie. And I was left to look for the right shoes on Wednesday between my PGI lecture and the meeting. Of course I've gone to check the shops on Oxford Street, I was in the centre anyway. And it was there that I've had the biggest dilemma of the week and probably made the decision which still haunts me up to this day. I've found the shoes I was looking for in TopShop but they weren't cheap, to say the least. And there were similar ones in Primark for 1/4 of the price of those from TopShop but they didn't look quite the way I wanted them to. And yes, I've bought the more expensive ones, but they are EXACTLY what I've been looking for. They're perfect. And leather. I love leather shoes. And as a result now I have to ration my food. Oh well. It always could've been worse. Back to that Wednesday: I got my shoes, got back home, 'prepared' them for use, changed into a white shirt and my dark suit, tied my blue tie, put on my trenchcoat and went out. I think you can easily guess as whom I've been cosplaying. I'll just say that it felt immensely good to just look down at myself and get confused because the only thing I could think of was that this is how one Angel of Thursday sees the world. BRILLIANT. Guys from GeekSoc thought so too. And one more thing that was brilliant that day: when I was going back home on the tube I've seen a guy that totally looked like a high school AU Gabe. FUCKING GABRIEL, THE ARCHANGEL, ONLY A FEW YEARS YOUNGER, TRAVELLING WITH ME, DRESSED AS CASTIEL, ON THE FUCKING LONDON TUBE. Here, have a look, I'm not lying. 1. 2. 3. I took the last picture when I was getting off the train and FUCK if it isn't THE Trickster. SERIOSULY. I should've asked him his name. And stalk him. Now I regret that I've missed my opportunity.
ANYWAY. On the actual Halloween I went out (again with GeekSoc) to Loading, a gaming pub in Soho. Since I'm not a gamer all I did was watch, but hey, it can be pretty entertaining too. And I guess everything is better than spending Halloween alone back at home writing your essay. Isn't it? Apart from that I just like spending my time with those people. Charlie, Steph, Fiona, Hamilton, AJ... I might or may not have a crush on half of them. Don't judge me. They're all just too great to not fall for. I just wish that I had better talking skills so I could tell them that...
OK, I guess that's enough for one note, I'm gonna squeeze everything else in the next one. But first I'm gonna go and cook some rice to eat my ratatouille with it. And guess what? I'm getting better at cooking since it's practically just basic science - put a few things together and wait a few minutes to get the results. Easy peasy. If you're curious here is my latest ratatouille. It was good, not over-salted and grey in colour like the first one. Oh well. Beginnings can be hard. The good thing is that it always gets better with time.
'Scar tissue that I wish you saw
Sarcastic mister know it all
Close your eyes and I'll kiss you 'cause
With the birds I'll share
With the birds I'll share
This lonely view
With the birds I'll share
This lonely view'
