And she pulled at my hair,
And tugged at my shirt,
As pain and fatigue came out,
And tears, for the first time, rolled down her cheeks.
And she just held me tightly, not wanting to let go, and digging her nails into my shoulder blades,
Because she knew she wouldn't be able to hold me again for some time,
And she knew she'd be hurt and disappointed again.
But she still held on as long as she could, just for the sake of it.
